The Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development concluded a 12-day training course for directors and coordinators of 51 model districts. The training was part of the follow-up to the “First Conference on Development and Popular Participation” and aimed to prepare an integrated, participatory local development plan for the year 1447 AH.
The closing ceremony was attended by several governors. Deputy Minister Jamal Al-Alawi urged participants to apply their newly acquired skills and begin implementing district development plans based on ministry guidelines and priorities.
In a speech on behalf of the directors, Abdullah Al-Hadi (Director of Al-Mina District, Al-Hudaydah) praised the ministry’s commitment to enhancing local capacities and reaffirmed the directors’ readiness to contribute actively in the field.
The focus was also placed on utilizing successful local experiences, participatory planning methods, contract farming, value chains, empowering cooperatives, and strengthening community initiatives.
The event included a poem by Ali Qatina (Director of Al-Khabt, Al-Mahwit) and a ceremony honoring the participating directors.
