European stocks fell on Wednesday as investors awaited developments in US trade policies and the discussion of the tax bill in the US Congress.

The European STOXX 600 index dropped by 0.26%, reaching 552.63 points.

Germany's DAX index also declined by 0.22%, settling at 23,982.95 points.

Meanwhile, Britain's FTSE 100 index fell by 0.17%, closing at 8,766.57 points.
