Sana'a - Saba:
Governor of the Socotra Archipelago Hashim al-Socotri on Wednesday considered the re-establishment of Yemeni unity on May 22, 1990, the culmination of the struggles of Yemenis and national forces, and the outcome of a historic struggle in the south, north, east, and west of the country.
In a statement, al-Socotri emphasized that the blessed unity represented a milestone in Yemen's history, a shining star in the sky of the Arab and Islamic nation, a true birth for the Yemeni people, and a source of strength and inspiration.
He pointed out that Yemeni unity is the only way to achieve development and prosperity and a fundamental pillar of national stability. This requires adherence to its authentic values to overcome challenges and build a better future for future generations.
The Socotra Governor noted that May 22 will remain a symbol of the people, their sacrifices, and their struggle, and a symbol of their steadfastness and cohesion in the face of the conspiracies of alarmists and their failed attempts to undermine their gains, most notably this historic achievement and positive event.
He warned advocates of secession and the tools of aggression and occupation against continuing to target the unity for which the Yemeni people have sacrificed and struggled.
