Gaza - Saba:
The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip has said that the situation in the northern Gaza Strip is extremely difficult, in light of the ongoing violent Israeli bombardment, with dozens of martyrs still under the rubble and in the streets.
The Palestinian Safa News Agency quoted Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, as saying on Friday that "the enemy is targeting everyone moving in the northern Gaza Strip, and we are finding it difficult to reach those areas to rescue citizens due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment."
Basal explained that the enemy targeted the main road in the Al-Sultan area, west of Beit Lahia, as rescue crews entered to rescue citizens, forcing them with great difficulty to return from side streets.
He pointed out that the enemy directly surprised citizens in the northern Gaza Strip, specifically in the eastern and western areas.
Basal explained that the enemy directly targeted more than ten inhabited homes in Beit Lahia and Jabalia, resulting in the deaths of dozens and the loss of others.
He continued, "Our crews have begun the rescue and recovery operation for citizens, but they have been unable to deal with several homes, as they were completely destroyed. They need additional equipment and capabilities for this."
Basal pointed out that among the completely destroyed homes was a home belonging to a civil defense crew from the al-Zainati family, which was targeted along with his family. The crews have been unable to rescue or recover any of them so far.
He stated that his crews have recovered more than 50 martyrs from the targeted areas and homes in the northern Gaza Strip, and that there are still dozens of martyrs under the rubble and on the roads and streets, and we have been unable to reach them.
He explained that the crews are receiving numerous appeals from citizens, but no one is able to respond to them, given the difficulty and danger of the situation and the lack of resources.
Basal indicated that an ambulance was targeted near the Zammo roundabout, east of Jabalia.
He confirmed that the enemy deliberately targeted a group of citizens at the western roundabout in Beit Lahia while they were carrying their belongings, resulting in the deaths of ten martyrs. Several others are still lying on the ground, unable to be recovered.
Basal added, "Last night and this night were among the most difficult nights we have experienced since March 18, due to the escalation of massacres and the enemy's brutality."
Basal described the brutal massacres that took place in Khan Yunis and the northern Gaza Strip as "insane and catastrophic," with the death toll exceeding 200.
He added, "We have no equipment or resources, and we are dealing with the minimum and within the available capabilities to deal with the large number of martyrs and wounded."
He continued, "We have appealed to the world, in a humanitarian manner, to provide us with heavy equipment and to provide immunity for our crews so that they can continue their mission and carry out the recovery operations, but no one is listening."
Basal emphasized that the international community and the Arab and Islamic world are indifferent to what is happening in the Gaza Strip, which is why we see a clear increase in the number of martyrs.
He explained that most of the injured treated suffered severe burns and are in critical condition. Due to the lack of equipment, medical personnel, and supplies, many of these injuries could be fatal.
The Civil Defense spokesman indicated that enemy forces abducted citizens from shelters west of Beit Lahia.
Since October 7, 2023, the enemy army, with full American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving approximately 173,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
