Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko announced that the "Thunder Fortress 2025" military exercises conducted by Western countries in Lithuania are directed against Russia, and that Moscow is taking measures in response.

In an interview with the Russian news agency TASS, Grushko said, in response to a question about who is directing these maneuvers, "This is against us." He added, "Measures have begun and have been announced. Two military districts are being re-established, and a tank corps is being established in Karelia."

He continued, "Other measures will also be taken, which we will consider appropriate to neutralize all these attempts to project power against Russia."
