Barcelona delivered a thrilling performance, defeating their rivals Real Madrid 4-3 in a highly anticipated La Liga clash on Sunday.
The match, part of the 35th round of the Spanish football league, was held at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys).
Real Madrid surprised the hosts with two early goals from their French striker Kylian Mbappé, who found the net in the 5th (penalty) and 14th minutes. However, Barcelona responded swiftly with a stunning four-goal comeback (remontada).
Defender Eric García opened the scoring for Barça in the 19th minute, followed by young winger Lamine Yamal’s equalizer in the 34th minute. Brazilian star Raphinha then struck twice (34th and 45th minutes), giving Barcelona a commanding lead by halftime.
Mbappé completed his hat-trick in the second half, scoring Real Madrid’s third goal in the 70th minute. However, his efforts were not enough to save "Los Blancos" from defeat.
With this victory, Barcelona extended their winning streak to five consecutive matches, solidifying their lead at the top of La Liga with 82 points—seven ahead of second-placed Real Madrid. The Catalan giants are now on the verge of clinching the league title.
