Occupied al-Quds- Saba:
A reserve soldier who served in the Israeli Sde Teiman camp revealed systematic and serious violations against Palestinian prisoners inside the detention center, with the knowledge and approval of Israeli officials.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted the soldier as saying that the detention center is run like a "sadistic torture camp," with the camp commander himself describing it as a "cemetery." He added that some Palestinians entered Sde Teiman alive and left as corpses in body bags.
The soldier noted that the detainees are held in inhumane conditions. Those injured are deprived of food for days and are denied medical treatment despite their severe war injuries.
He confirmed that soldiers prevent prisoners from using the bathroom, and that a large number of them are civilians with no connection to the resistance.
The reservist added, "The death of detainees in Sde Teiman is no longer a surprise... the surprise is that one of them survives."
The soldier spoke of shocking cases of wounded prisoners undergoing surgery without anesthesia, and some having their limbs amputated due to the iron shackles that were not removed even while sleeping, defecating, or receiving medical treatment.
Multiple human rights organizations have documented serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law inside Sde Teiman, including physical violence, sexual abuse, and gender-based violence.
