Gaza - Saba:
Oxfam UK launched an open appeal for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to halt the humanitarian catastrophe and loss of life.
Oxfam said in a statement on Thursday that the hostilities in Gaza have caused severe damage to the agriculture and food production sectors.
It stressed that the people of Gaza are facing levels of food insecurity ranging from crisis to emergency to catastrophic famine.
It noted that the famine-like conditions in Gaza are the result of Israel's failure to ensure full access for humanitarian aid.
Oxfam stressed that entire neighborhoods in Gaza have been reduced to rubble, and Palestinians have nowhere safe to turn.
Since March 18, the Zionist enemy has resumed its war of extermination on Gaza, reneging on a 58-day ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas brokered by Qatar and Egypt and supported by the United States.
With American support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 171,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing.
