Britain Revives "War Plans" Amid Fears of Possible Attack

London - (Saba):
Western media revealed on Tuesday that the British government is updating its 20-year-old plan to deal with potential attacks by another country.

According to Western media, British officials have been asked to update a 20-year-old contingency plan. Media outlets indicated that the plan will be updated amid concerns that Britain is not prepared for war.

An updated version of the secret "Homeland Defense Plan" will outline a strategy for the days following any attack on British soil by a hostile foreign power. The secret document will outline how the government would respond to a declaration of war, including creating bunkers to protect the Cabinet, the Royal Family, and the public broadcasting service, and storing resources, according to The Telegraph.

According to the publication, the updated plan will include scenarios for the first days in which the United Kingdom is subjected to missile attacks with non-nuclear or nuclear warheads, or to cyberattacks. It is noteworthy that the document will likely not be made public.

The newspaper adds that "the plan... will inform the Prime Minister and the Cabinet on how to conduct government in wartime and when they should use the bunker in Downing Street or outside London."
