The Pakistani military announced on Tuesday that it had shot down an Indian spy drone along the Line of Control in the disputed region of Kashmir.
Pakistani television, citing unidentified security sources, reported that the drone had crossed the so-called "Line of Control" in Kashmir, an area located in the northern part of the country claimed by both Pakistan and India.
On Monday, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that military incursions by neighboring India were imminent following an armed attack on tourists in Kashmir last week, amid escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.
In an interview with Reuters at his office in Islamabad, Asif added, "We have reinforced our troops because it has become imminent now. Therefore, in this situation, certain strategic decisions must be made, and these decisions have already been taken."
