The Steering Committee of the General Volleyball Federation, chaired by committee president Walid Faye’a, approved during its meeting the launch of the Republic's Beach Volleyball Championship for provincial teams, which will commence next Tuesday in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.
The championship, which will last for three days, will see participation from 15 provincial teams.
The meeting also discussed preparatory aspects to ensure the success of the event.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Steering Committee emphasized the significance of holding this type of championship after a long hiatus due to the circumstances the federation faced as a result of the aggression and blockade on the country.
He stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure the success of the tournament and to present it in a way that befits Yemeni volleyball, reviving and restoring the sport to its former and even better status.
Faye’a called on all teams participating in the championship to be fully prepared, noting that the federation has an ambitious plan to revive and intensify the sport’s activities across all provinces, and is working to implement it according to the available resources.
