Bayda - Saba:

Bayda governor Abdullah Idris on Saturday inspected the ongoing work on the sewage network project in al-Kamb neighborhood of Rada'a city.

During the inspection, Governor Idris, received a detailed briefing from Abdulghani al-Mukhtar, the Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in the province.

Al-Mukhtar explained the progress of excavation work, the readiness of pipes, sewage connections, project route lines, and the overall percentage of completion.

Al-Mukhtar noted that the project entails the construction of a 7.5-kilometer sewage network for al-Kamb neighborhood, including connections to 198 inspection chambers and 188 manholes. The project is valued at $545,000 and is funded by UNOPS as part of the Water and Sanitation for Urban Cities Project.

Governor Idris emphasized the significance of the project in serving the community, contributing to crucial infrastructure development, and providing essential sanitation services to densely populated residential areas within Rada'a city.

He urged the implementing agencies to ensure the work adheres strictly to the agreed-upon technical specifications and is completed within the designated timeframe.

The Governor also acknowledged UNICEF's support in implementing various service and development interventions and projects benefiting communities across the province.
