Two Killed After Skyscraper Collapses in Thailand Following Earthquake
[Fri, 28 Mar 2025 19:07:47 +0300]

Bangkok - Saba:
Thai emergency services announced that at least two people were killed when a skyscraper under construction in the capital, Bangkok, collapsed after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar.

Sky News reported on Friday that rescue official Songut Wangpun told reporters in front of the rubble of the collapsed building that seven other workers had been found alive, while several others remained under the rubble.

The skyscraper, which was under construction, collapsed seconds after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck around noon local time.

For its part, Thailand's Disaster Management Authority said that nearly all parts of the country felt the earthquake that struck neighboring Myanmar and its aftershocks.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers, about 17.2 kilometers from the city of Mandalay in central Myanmar.
