A woman was injured after a hospital in the city of Engels, Saratov Oblast, central Russia, was damaged, while a fire broke out at a military airport near the city as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack last night.
Saratov Governor Roman Busargin reported via Telegram on Thursday morning that the injured woman is currently receiving treatment and that the attack shattered some hospital windows.
The governor also stated that the windows of two kindergartens and a school were partially shattered as a result of the airstrike, with no injuries to staff. He explained that no children were inside the damaged buildings at the time of the attack.
Busargin later indicated that the airstrike, the largest attack ever to hit the region, damaged approximately 30 private homes and a summer house on the outskirts of Engels.
He indicated that residents of villages adjacent to the military airport, where a fire broke out after a drone attack, were being evacuated. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 54 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over Saratov overnight, out of 132 enemy drones shot down over various Russian regions.
