The third Military Volleyball Championship for the Martyr Commander Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi Cup commenced in Sana'a on Tuesday.

Organized by the Military Sports Department under the slogan "We are committed to the covenant" the week-long tournament features six teams divided into two groups.

Brigadier General Abduljalil Ghazi, Director of the Military Sports Department, highlighted the championship's role in promoting sporting activities within military units and colleges to develop and enhance skills.

The opening day saw the Armament Team secure a 3-0 victory over the Training Authority, while the Armed Forces Club defeated the Supply and Logistics Team by the same score.

The tournament continues on Wednesday with matches between the Moral Guidance Department and the Armament Department, and the Armed Forces Club versus Officers' Affairs.

The opening ceremony was attended by military officials and team representatives.
