Manila - Saba:
The Philippines announced today the disappearance of an air force fighter jet, with two pilots on board, during a night combat mission to support ground forces in the south of the country.
The "FA-50" aircraft lost contact with other aircraft around midnight before reaching the target area.
The Philippine Air Force explained that the other aircraft returned safely to the Cebu base in central Philippines. The Air Force spokeswoman expressed her hope that the crew and the aircraft would be found soon, calling for prayers in these critical moments.
It is worth noting that the Philippines has received 12 "FA-50" aircraft since 2015 as part of a military modernization program.
