Occupation releases four journalists as part of seventh phase prisoner exchange deal

Gaza - Saba:
The Center for the Protection of Palestinian Journalists confirmed, today, Thursday, that the "Israeli" occupation released four Palestinian journalists from the Gaza Strip as part of the seventh phase of the prisoner exchange deal.

The center stated that the journalists are: Khader Bakr Abdel Aal, Hamza Akram Radwan, Muhammad Al-Sultan, and Baha Al-Din Al-Ghoul, noting that the occupation arrested them during the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

In September 2024, the Palestinian Prisoners Club revealed that the "Israeli" occupation had arrested 98 Palestinian journalists from the occupied West Bank and Gaza since the start of its brutal aggression on the Strip on October 7, 2023.

The Prisoners Club said in a statement that the Israeli occupation had kept 52 journalists who were arrested after October 7 in detention in its prisons.

It explained that among the journalists still in the occupation's prisons are at least 17 from Gaza.
In the same context, it is noteworthy that the occupation has killed more than 205 journalists in the Gaza Strip since the start of the genocidal war, according to the government media office in the Strip.

Palestinian and international media outlets have repeatedly warned of the Israeli occupation army targeting media crews in Gaza, and called for providing them with protection, amid Israeli disregard for those calls.

This morning, the Prisoners’ Media Office said that the occupation released the seventh batch of the prisoner exchange deal, which included the release of 642 prisoners, including: 151 prisoners with life sentences and high sentences, distributed as follows: (43 prisoners to the West Bank and Jerusalem, 97 prisoners who will be deported abroad, 11 prisoners from Gaza who were arrested before October 7), in addition to 445 prisoners from Gaza who were arrested after October 7 and 46 female and child prisoners.
