The head of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Haya, said on Friday that "the Palestinians and their valiant resistance have achieved their goals, with God's help and grace, from the glorious battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, foremost of which is to bury the nose of this usurping entity in the dirt with the power of God, and topple its prestige as an undefeated entity, and the prestige of its army as an unbreakable army.
"After the battles stopped and the dust cleared, the resistance decided to officially announce the departure of a number of great leaders who poured their pure blood into this blessed land, so that the tree of honour , dignity would sprout and bloom with heroism and victory, after they fulfilled the trust and handed over the flag to a new generation of brave leaders to complete the march towards Al-Quds , Al-Aqsa and pave the way for the Great Return," he said.
He said: "We singled out the leader of jihad and resistance, the man whom millions adored and cheered without knowing his picture, and whose name shook the hearts of enemies, terrorized them and haunted them with his shadow, the inspiring martyr commander: *Mohammad al-Dhayef "Abu Khaled"*, the fierce lion who spent his life chasing and hunting his enemies, and conquered all his pursuers for more than thirty years."
Al-Haya also added, "The martyr al-Dhayef ... This is the man who started his jihad at a time when we did not have guns or bullets, Hamas and its Qassams only had a strong vision and a strong will."
He continued, "Our martyr, Commander Muhammad al-Dhayef, was able, thanks to God, along with his brothers, the living and the first martyrs: Yasser al-Nimruti, Imad Akl and Salah Shehadeh, were able to build an army that many armies around the world are unable to do."
According to al-Haya, "an army that strikes the enemy without hesitation, storms the borders and records battles and heroics, an army based on the stalwart mujahid, before the tools and equipment... A mujahid with vision, insight and sound doctrine... An army that is embraced by the resistance community that is ready for every sacrifice for the sake of its freedom and independence."
