Nouakchott - Saba:
Thousands of Mauritanians participated in a march in the capital, Nouakchott, on Friday evening, to celebrate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which witnessed a Zionist genocidal war for more than 15 months.
The mass march set off from Ibn Abbas Square in the center of Nouakchott, to tour the main streets of the capital, before concluding in front of the headquarters of the United Nations representation.
Political leaders and trade union organizations participated in the march, and a press release was distributed at its conclusion praising the "steadfastness of the Palestinian people" against the Zionist aggression.
The statement stressed that "the decision to stop the aggression confirms a fixed fact, which is that the just cause of the Palestinian people cannot be ignored, and that the will of its resistance cannot be broken, and its determination is capable of imposing respect for its dignity and rights and extending its sovereignty over its lands."
It pointed out that "the Mauritanian people celebrate the victory of the resistance and the cessation of aggression against its brothers in occupied Palestine, to praise this steadfastness in the face of brutality and destructive aggression that humanity has never known its equal."
According to the statement, the Mauritanian political parties called on "the free people of the world to support the Palestinian people and support them in defending themselves with all the means they have, until they recover all their occupied land, and their struggles are crowned by the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."
The statement called for "prosecuting war criminals and bringing them before the International Criminal Court."
The Mauritanian political parties also called for "an urgent and generous humanitarian donation to rescue the people of Gaza and rebuild their land that was completely destroyed by the aggression, and to provide humanitarian aid to those who remain after 471 days of death, siege and disease."
