Ramallah - Saba:
The Israeli system continues its methodology of targeting Palestinian journalists, and committing massacres against them, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said on Sunday, after the occupier executed ten reporters last December.
The Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" quoted the Syndicate's Freedoms Committee as saying in a press statement that the Zionist enemy army committed 84 violations, assaults and crimes against Palestinian journalists last month, the most prominent of which was in the Gaza Strip, where ten journalists were killed, including five in a brutal massacre while they were in a live broadcast vehicle.
Eight family members of journalists were also martyred, three homes of journalists and their families were destroyed, while five journalists were injured with bloody wounds by missile shrapnel and bullets.
The Freedoms Committee monitored the detention and prevention of about 20 journalists and crews from coverage, in addition to the arrest of seven and shooting in 11 incidents against journalists, ten were severely beaten, and three cases of smashing and seizing work equipment in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Journalists were subjected to many forms of attacks such as direct threats with weapons, suffocation with toxic tear gas, unfair trials, financial fines, travel bans, investigations, and attempted running over, the statement said calling for the union's continued efforts in all forums to protect journalists and expose the crimes of the Zionist enemy.
