Sana'a - Saba: The General Corporation for Slaughterhouses and Meat Markets held a workshop on Wednesday to evaluate its service and revenue performance during the first half of 2024.

Participants included branch directors from across the capital and provinces.

The workshop focused on key areas such as health and veterinary services, technical and administrative activity reports, asset management, archiving, modernization efforts, and the development of staff skills. It also highlighted the importance of expanding services to ensure their positive impact reaches all regions.

Yahya Abdullah Hashem, head of the corporation, emphasized the need for consistent reporting and fieldwork to enhance service delivery and revenue performance. He praised the corporation’s ability to restore its activities over the past years, attributing the success to the collective efforts of the staff and leadership support.

Hashem stressed the importance of activating revenue sources in accordance with the law and matching these with tangible achievements in preserving and developing livestock. He urged branch managers to coordinate with local authorities to overcome challenges, emphasizing that improved performance at the branches positively reflects on the corporation's overall services.

Cultural activist Adnan al-Ashmouri highlighted the moral and national responsibility of all participants, stressing the need for a collective effort to advance the corporation's role in contributing to livestock development and food security.

The workshop concluded with recommendations to strengthen veterinary health control, increase field efforts to address violations, and implement the outcomes of a recent training course on health and veterinary services.
