MOSCOW - SABA: Russian President Vladimir Putin approved on Wednesday, a proposal submitted by the Russian Foreign Ministry to sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A document published on the official website of legal affairs in Russia stated: "The proposal of the Russian Foreign Ministry, agreed with the interested federal government bodies and organizations, to sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been accepted."

The document refers to a recommendation to sign the agreement at the highest level.
