SANAA-SABA: Today in Sana'a, a meeting led by Eng. Adel Ahmed Margham, head of the Customs Authority, and Yahya Atifa, Chairman of the Yemeni General Organization for Cement Industry and Marketing, were held to discuss customs facilities and exemptions for the inputs of cement production at the Amran and Bajil plants.
The meeting discussed various strategies to enhance the competitiveness of local products, which included offering exemptions on production inputs.
They also explored ways to improve cooperation and coordination between the Customs Authority and the Cement Corporation to boost factory competitiveness and ensure the local market's cement needs are satisfied.
They also explored ways to streamline and ease customs processes to align with the needs of the local market and bolster the factory's contribution to the national economy, by satisfying local demand with quality, adherence to standards, and competitive pricing.
The meeting's participants emphasized the need to support local producers and factories, particularly due to the ongoing aggression and unfair blockade. This is crucial as competitors, backed by their nations, penetrate the local market and undermine the country's production and industrial capabilities.
