SANA'A - SABA :
The Customs Authority launched on Saturday in Sana'a an intensive specialized training program in the field of customs inspection, which comes as part of the program to develop institutional performance and enhance the field cadres technical capabilities.
The ten-day course, lectured by eight customs experts, aims to provide 30 trainees with skills to enhance their technical and knowledge capabilities.
At the launch, the Director of the Customs Cultural Institute, Faisal Al-Thawab, explained that the program comes within the general directives of the government of change and construction to enhance performance and build the state institutional capacities .
Abdulkarim Al-Mansour, Advisor to the Customs Authority Head for Documentation and Customs Value, pointed out that the inspection of goods and products is carried out according to the standards of customs laws, policies and references, considering that it is a set of procedures aimed at reaching the real value , the correct tariff item and then reaching accurate statistics on which the country's policies and economy are based.
Al-Mansour said that the customs officer is considered the first line of defense for the country and must take full caution when dealing with imported and exported goods at all land, sea and air ports.
