SANA'A August 31. 2024 (Saba) - Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali Qasim Al-Yafei visited on Saturday the National Women's Center for the Development of Crafts and Handicrafts in the old city of Sana'a.
Minister Al-Yafei, along with a number of the ministry's leaders, was briefed on the center's conditions and workflow, the various handicrafts it contains, and the various activities it carries out, especially in the field of training , rehabilitation , raising the level of competence and Yemeni women's capabilities.
"Authentic Yemeni crafts are characterized by quality, durability, perfection , originality, and are an extension of Yemen's heritage and legacy," he said.
He pointed out the importance of the pioneering role of Yemeni women and their contributions in this field, which embodies proof of their presence, merit and active participation in facing the challenges, and reflects the sophistication of their taste and high technical skill.
Culture and Tourism Minister also stressed the importance of traditional crafts , handicrafts, and working seriously on combining in their work and designs between the elements of originality, contemporaneity , renewal, and focusing on putting the final touches with perfection, in a way that contributes to rehabilitating them, and increasing and encouraging demand for them by the local consumer audience, especially as they are linked to their civilization and identity.
Minister Al-Yafei pointed out the importance of taking into account the size of the competition with imported goods.
