White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt expressed the US administration's anger over CNN's publication of an intelligence assessment confirming the failure of the US strike to destroy Iran's nuclear sites.
Leavitt said the leaked report is classified as "top secret" and was illegally leaked by an "anonymous, low-level individual" in the intelligence community, describing this individual as "the real loser."
She emphasized that what happened represents a deliberate attempt to humiliate President Donald Trump and undermine the achievements of the fighter pilots who carried out a "precise mission to destroy Iran's nuclear program," as she described it.
This statement came after CNN, known for its Democratic leanings and opposition to President Trump, published a report citing four informed sources, stating that the initial assessment of US intelligence indicates that the attacks targeting three major nuclear facilities in Iran – Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan – did not succeed in destroying vital parts of the Iranian nuclear program, and that their effect may be limited to delaying the program's progress by only a few months.
