MUSCAT August 24. 2024 (Saba) - Omani police announced on Saturday the death of four people due to heavy rains that swept through the state of Nizwa in Oman.

The police said in a statement today: “Five people were swept away in Wadi Tanuf in the state of Nizwa, after heavy rains surprised 16 people from a multinational mountain hiking group,” noting that the accident resulted in the Omani citizen death , three people of different Arab nationalities and one person was seriously injured.

The statement explained that the victims were transported by police aircraft to the Nizwa Reference Hospital.

Oman and other countries are witnessing heavy seasonal rains that have led to many casualties.
