Algeria calls for emergency Security Council session on Tabi'in school massacre
[Sun, 11 Aug 2024 10:59:25 +0300]

ALGERIA August 11. 2024 (Saba) - Algeria called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council next Tuesday regarding the massacre of the Tabi'in School committed by the Zionist enemy in the Daraj neighborhood east Gaza City.

The Algerian News Agency quoted a diplomatic source in New York today, Sunday, as saying: "The request to hold this emergency meeting comes based on the recent dangerous developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially after the air strike launched by the Zionist enemy army on a school in Gaza."

The source added: "This request was submitted in consultation with the State of Palestine", explaining that Algeria's request "has the support of other member states of the Security Council".

Yesterday, Saturday, the Zionist enemy forces committed a horrific massacre in Daraj neighborhood after they raided Al-Tabi'in School, which houses hundreds of displaced persons, with three missiles, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 martyrs and dozens of wounded.

Data from the Civil Defense Authority in Gaza Strip indicate that the Zionist enemy has bombed 13 centers for sheltering displaced persons since the beginning of August.

The enemy army follows a systematic policy of targeting schools and shelters where displaced people have taken refuge in Gaza.

According to the government media office, the recent massacres have raised the number of shelters inhabited by displaced people that the occupation army has targeted since the beginning of the genocidal war in Gaza to 173 schools and shelters, and the number of martyrs in those massacres has exceeded 1,150 martyrs.
