HODEIDA August 9. 2024 (Saba) - Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, Deputy Prime Minister of the Caretaker Government for Services and Development Affairs and Chairman of the Presidential Committee to Confront Flood Damage, launched on Friday an emergency response project to assist flood-affected families in Hodeida province.
Supported by the General Authority for Zakat Office, the project aims to provide food aid to 1,675 families, shelter aid to 4,300 families, and cash aid to 18 families of the deceased, with a total budget of 66.255 million riyals.
The project commenced with the dispatch of a relief convoy to southern districts of the province.
During the inauguration, Dr. Maqbouli commended the initiative for its critical role in alleviating the suffering of families who experienced significant losses and home destruction.
He acknowledged the General Authority of Zakat and its Hodeida office for their efforts in supporting the emergency response and ensuring timely assistance to those affected.
Dr. Maqbouli emphasized the importance placed by both revolutionary and political leadership on providing swift aid to flood victims and highlighted the ongoing work of the Presidential Committee, in coordination with local authorities, to implement relief efforts and address flood damage across the province.
