HODEIDA August 7. 2024 (Saba) - Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, inspected today the damage to the port of Hodeida and oil tanks and facilities as a result of the Israeli aggression bombardment.
Maqbouli, along with the head of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid al-Washli, the commander of coastal defense, Major General Mohamed al-Qadri, and the director of the humanitarian affairs branch in the governorate, Jaber al-Razhi, were briefed on the repercussions of the Zionist entity's deliberate targeting of the port of Hodeida and the destruction of some bridge cranes, represented by Aden and Mukalla.
He listened from the head of the corporation to an explanation about the nature of the damage caused by the Israeli bombardment and the basic importance of the cranes, which destroyed them, in the operational course of the port, and the efforts made by the leadership of the corporation in the maintenance of these cranes, which were previously targeted by the Saudi aggression during its aggression against the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister was also briefed on the current efforts to enhance the level of activity in normalizing the situation after the bombing of the port.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and the sectors operating in Hodeidah Port, in restoring work in the port, taking measures and treatments that would continue the activity, and enhance the service role of this vital artery.
He stressed that the evidence of the destruction and damage to the port and fuel tanks represents an extension of the crimes and siege that the Yemeni people have been subjected to for nine years. He pointed out that this crime is added to the series of crimes of the Israeli and American enemies against the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples.
Maqbool pointed out that targeting the port of Hodeidah and fuel tank facilities will not dissuade the Yemeni people from their position in support of the Palestinian people, based on their religious, humanitarian, and moral duty in light of the flawed international and UN silence towards the comprehensive war of genocide in Gaza.
