IBB July 28. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting chaired by Secretary-General of the Local Council in Ibb province Amin al-Warafi was held on Sunday to discuss the mechanism for updating and issuing both the paper and electronic versions of the tourist guide for the province.

The meeting, which included the province's undersecretaries Harith al-Maliki, Mohammed al-Shabibi, and Mohammed al-Muraisi, as well as the directors of the tourism offices Ghanem Awsaj, media Abdulbasit al-Nu'ah, historical cities Ahmed al-Nu'ah, and the head of the tourism department at Ibb University, Dr. Mohammed al-Naqqash, reviewed aspects related to providing the costs of updating and printing the guide in Arabic and English.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the local council emphasized the importance of updating the tourist guide in line with the decision of the head of the Supreme Tourism Council to declare Ibb province the tourist capital of Yemen. He stressed the local authority's support for the project due to its significance in promoting the rich tourist components of the province.

He urged the committee in charge to benefit from previous experiences in the field of preparing guides, particularly regarding technical and technological aspects, and to ensure the comprehensiveness of tourist sites, including natural, archaeological, historical, and popular heritage. He highlighted the developmental renaissance and infrastructure improvements witnessed by the province in various sectors, which have made it a destination for visitors despite the effects of aggression and siege.

The meeting approved the composition of the committee responsible for preparing the guide, headed by undersecretary governor for the Tourism Sector Harith al-Maliki and outlined its work program.

Additionally, a technical committee was formed, headed by the Director of the Tourism Office, to update the database, implement technical work, and launch the guide on the Internet.

A team was also assigned to photograph tourist and natural sites, archaeological landmarks, mosques, historical schools, shrines of the flags of guidance, tourist parks, and popular heritage sites that were not included in the previous version of the tourist guide.
