SANA'A July 28. 2024 (Saba) - The Shura Council's Main Committee condemned the continued genocide crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinians, in light of shameful international, Arab and Islamic silence and disregard.

The committee denounced in its regular meeting held on Sunday chaired by Council Chairman Mohammed Hussein Al-Eidaroos, the massacre committed by the Israeli enemy entity against the displaced people in Sayyeda Khadija School in Deir al-Balah in Gaza, which claimed the lives of more than 136 martyrs and wounded, most of them women and children.

The meeting, attended by the Secretary-General of the Shura Council, Ali Abdul-Mughni, praised the statement of the General Secretariat of the Association of Senates, Shura Councils and Similar Councils in Africa and the Arab World, which condemned the Israeli aggression on Al-Hodeida province and its violation of Yemeni sovereignty.

In the meeting, Shura Council Speaker stressed that persons with disabilities are an integral part of the social fabric and have the full right to live in dignity , enjoy the rights and services that guarantee them a decent life.

The report addressed the role of the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund in providing services and projects in the fields of health, education, rehabilitation and training for persons with disabilities, whose number since the establishment of the fund until 2022 has reached 155,674 disabled males and females.

It reviewed the role of the Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Defense in alleviating the suffering of the wounded, disabled and prisoners of the armed forces and security forces in the areas of monthly allowances, health care, economic empowerment, educational services and rural family development.

The committee approved the report, taking into account the positive comments on it and referred it to the general meeting of the Council.
