JENIN July 24. 2024 (Saba) - The lawyer of the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Authority managed on Sunday to visit the Zionist Damon Prison, and met with two Palestinian prisoners, where she exchanged talks with them separately, and briefed her on the situation of the prison and the prisoners, according to Palestinian media quoting the Commission.
According to the media, the commission said that the lawyer met in prison Anwar Rostom (33 years old) from the town of Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah Allah and Al-Bireh, who is still detained, and Hana Saleh (36 years old) from the town of Deir Abu Mash'al, northwest of Ramallah Allah, who is detained according to an administrative decision.
According to the Commission, (78 female prisoners) are detained in Damon prison, three of them from Gaza (Siham Abu Salem, her daughter Suzan Abu Salem, and Asma Shatat), and a third of the total number are administratively detained, and there are many difficult cases that need treatment and health care in civilian hospitals.
The Commission pointed out that the visit was talked about the two sick prisoners, Zainab Sajdah, who suffers from cancer, and the prisoner Rana Eida, whose health and psychological condition is still very difficult due to the arrest, while the two prisoners, Nawal Fathia and Dana Khoury, are being held in solitary confinement cells.
With regard to daily life, the Commission revealed, according to the media, that the rooms are very overcrowded, as there are two types of rooms, large in which (ten prisoners) are held at a minimum, and small in which (five prisoners) are held at least, but the areas of the rooms are very small compared to the number of prisoners, and the temperatures inside them are high and there is no ventilation, which makes life inside them suffering and torment, and the outburst and bathing are allocated for only one hour, and every two rooms are taken out together, and the food is still bad in quantity and quality, and there is Severe shortage of clothing, objects and women's needs.
The Commission renewed its call to local and international women's institutions and unions to rise up in order to save the Palestinian prisoners, and to stop the exclusivity of the Zionist occupation prison administration over them.
