Medvedev: Any attempts by NATO to threaten Russia's borders will face firm response

MOSCOW July 18. 2024 (Saba) - Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, has confirmed that Russia does not threaten NATO and will not attack any of its members, but any attempts by them to threaten its borders will be met with a firm response.

Medvedev said in an interview with the Russian newspaper "Argumenti e Fakti": "The more NATO attempts to threaten us, the more stringent our responses become. This depends only on the extent of the wisdom of the other side. Unfortunately, this has not been shown so far," noting that the behavior of NATO leaders today resembles corpses dancing in front of the edge of the infernal abyss that has opened before humanity."

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council pointed out that Russia is much stronger than it was 20 years ago, and more prepared for conflict with the West, but it relies on diplomacy rather than military force.

Medvedev considered that mutual respect and non-interference in the affairs of other countries is the correct standard of behavior in the modern world, relying on diplomatic efforts, and not on military force or financial bribery, stressing that Russia supports a just and multipolar world order.
