RAMALLAH July 17. 2024 (Saba) -The outcome of arrest campaigns in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, reached more than 9,700 arrests today, Wednesday, since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on the seventh of October 2023. According to a statement issued by the prisoners' bodies.

A joint statement published by the Palestinian Media Center for the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners' Club, and Addameer Association for Prisoner Support and Human Rights said that the number of arrests among women reached more than 330. This toll does not include women arrested from Gaza.

The prisoners' institutions explained that the number of arrests among children reached at least 675, while the number of arrests among journalists reached 89 journalists, of whom 51 remain in detention, including six female journalists, and at least 16 journalists from Gaza whose identities we were able to verify. Of the journalists, 17 are in administrative detention.

With regard to administrative detention, more than 7,500 administrative detention orders have been issued since the beginning of the war of genocide, ranging from new orders to renewal orders, including orders against children and women.

The prisoners' institutions indicated that the continuous arrest campaigns are accompanied by escalating crimes and violations, including: abuse and severe beatings, threats against detainees and their families, in addition to extensive vandalism and destruction of citizens' homes, confiscation of vehicles, money, and gold jewelry, in addition to the widespread destruction of infrastructure, specifically in the camps of Tulkarm, Jenin and its camp, and the demolition of homes belonging to the families of prisoners.
