SANA'A July 11. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects scattered rains of varying intensity in several provinces, and hot to extremely hot weather in deserts, plains, and coastal areas during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that thunderstorms of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by hailstones, are likely to fall in parts of Sa'ada, Amran, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Al-Dhale', and Al-Bayda and Taiz provinces.
Scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected to fall in parts of Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, Shabwa, and the highlands of Al-Jawf, Marib, Abyan, Lahj provinces, and areas of the Tihama Plain.
Thunderstorms also fell outside the range of monitoring stations in parts of Al-Jawf, Sa'ada, Amran, Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Dhale', Al-Bayda, Taiz and Shabwa provinces.
The center warned citizens against being in the depths of valleys and flood paths, thunderstorms, and low horizontal visibility due to rainfall and dense low clouds.
It also warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of turbulent seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, the eastern , southern coasts, hot and extremely hot weather. It advised against direct exposure to the sun’s rays, and to drink plenty of fluids.
