ISLAMABAD July 10. 2024 (Saba) - At least eight people, including five security personnel, were killed in clashes on Wednesday between Pakistani forces and a militant group in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Local media quoted the Pakistani army in a statement as saying: "Five soldiers were killed as a result of clashes with terrorists, while 12 others were wounded." "The clashes also claimed the lives of three children from the area, one of whom is the son of a policeman," he said.
"Pakistani forces were able to neutralise two terrorists during the clashes," the statement said.
The clashes coincide with the authorities' launch of security and military operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
