SANA'A July 10. 2024 (Saba) - Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) launched on Wednesday the modernization of the work of the Information Center and the automation of technical, financial and administrative procedures and electronic systems, which were established and developed at the Authority's office.
The updates included the development of the establishments control system, the import system and draft standards, the system of standards, jewellery and administrative communications, in addition to the new website, and the "match" electronic platform, which will be launched in the coming days.
At the inauguration, the Executive Director of the Authority, Sam Al-Bashiri, pointed out that these systems will save a lot of time and effort, facilitate procedures, reduce manipulation of transactions, accelerate their completion, whether internal or external, and achieve integration between systems through networking between them.
He pointed out that these systems will track the progress of the draft standards, starting from the preparation of the draft standard until its adoption, in addition to holding meetings of the committees for preparing the standards electronically (online), and linking the outputs to the authority's website.
Al-Bashiri touched on the importance of the control system for local establishments in listing industrial and food establishments, production inputs and outputs, enabling inspectors to conduct periodic evaluation of those establishments, following up on samples for examination and testing, following up on violations and automating import control procedures in the authority's branches and centers in various governorates, and customs ports.
He pointed out that the work will be carried out according to an automated system aimed at simplifying and accelerating procedures within the framework of the single window in cooperation with the Customs Authority and the relevant authorities.
He stressed that the modernization of work in the authority comes within the framework of the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, and the directives of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to transform the work in the authority to automated and electronic systems by automating all procedures and transactions, and the mechanisms of work of the authority technical, financial and administrative.
The Deputy Director of the Information Center, Dr. Basil Al-Attab, reviewed the level of achievement in automating the authority's technical, financial and administrative procedures through electronic systems, which will be launched successively during the coming period.
