MOSCOW July 08. 2024 (Saba) -The Russian security has foiled an attempt by Kyiv regime and NATO allies to steal a strategist Tu-22M3 bombardier able to bear warheads, the Federal security said on Monday in a statement.
The Ukrainian intelligence tried to recruit the Russian plane's captain and allured him with two million dollars, Italian citizenship and secured stay abroad to persuade him into flying the bombardier to an airport in Ukraine, the Russian security added.
The Russian intelligence found that NATO states' intelligence were directly involved in planning for the attempt, according to the statement.
Kyiv intelligence talked with the pilot via 'Telegram', practiced against him enticement and intimidation method and asked him to provide them with technical data and hovering tables of Russian bombardiers of this kind, the pilot said.
They also asked him to set fire to planes in the airport or cause any damage to them, he added, noting that he deceived the chatterers and obtained from them information that led Russia to destroy an Ukrainian military airport that was seemingly expected to receive the plane.
