BEIJING July 04. 2024 (Saba) -B eijing calls on Washington to end illegal troop deployments in Syria, stop looting the country's resources and take tangible steps to remedy the harm suffered by the people, spokeswoman for the Chinese foreign ministry said on Wednesday, according to Xinhua.
Syria once was a wheat-exporter country, and now nearly 55 percent of its population is facing a state of food insecurity, the responsibility for which the United States cannot renege, Maw Ning added at press conference.
According to a recent report, the U.S. army in Syria is involved in illegally transporting wheat, with over ten lorries daily smuggling the Syrian cereals abroad.
Facts proved that the U.S. is looting Syria's resources under the pretext of counterterrorism, the Chinese official said.
