TULKARM July 03. 2024 (Saba) - The Palestinians in the city of Tulkarm, in a solemn funeral procession, on Wednesday afternoon, mourned the bodies of four martyrs from Nour Shams camp, east of the city.
The martyrs are: Yazid Saed Adel Shafi’, 22, Nimr Anwar Ahmed Hamarsheh, 25, Muhammad Yasser Raja Shehadeh, 20 and Muhammad Hassan Ghannam Kanouh, 22, all of whom are residents of Nour Shams camp.
The Palestinian News Agency reported that the funeral procession commenced from the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm, where ambulances transported the bodies of the deceased to the Martyr Saif Abu Lebda roundabout at the camp's western entrance. From there, mourners carried the bodies on their shoulders to the families' homes for final farewells.
During the procession, mourners expressed their grief through nationalistic slogans and chants condemning the occupation's atrocities against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. They demanded accountability for ongoing massacres.
At Al-Awda Park in Nour Shams camp, the mourners gathered for noon and funeral prayers over the bodies of the martyrs before their burial in the camp's martyrs' cemetery. The mourning was accompanied by a comprehensive strike affecting daily life in Tulkarm Governorate, excluding the secondary school exams (Tawjihi).
The four martyrs lost their lives the previous night when a drone strike targeted a location in the Card neighborhood of Nour Shams camp. This incident marked the third consecutive day of drone attacks by occupation forces in Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including one woman.
Earlier, Saeed Izzat Jaber was martyred in a house bombing in Al-Manshiya neighborhood of Nour Shams camp, while Nisreen Khaled Damiri lost her life in a similar attack near her residence in Tulkarm camp. These events have raised the total number of martyrs in the governorate since October 7th to 122.
