Ministry of Guidance holds Saudi authorities fully responsible for safety of Yemeni pilgrims

SANA'A June 26. 2024 (Saba) - The Ministry of Guidance and Hajj and Umrah Affairs held the Saudi authorities fully responsible for the safety of Yemeni pilgrims and their safe return to Sana'a.

The ministry confirmed in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Saudi authorities are still holding 1,124 Yemeni pilgrims, who are scheduled to return to Sana'a airport and their flights are confirmed, but the Saudi authorities yesterday prevented their departure towards Sana'a airport, and diverted their direction to Aden airport, although all passengers of the flights are heading to Sana'a.

The Saudi authorities blamed the safety of pilgrims and the risks they may be exposed to because of their failure to transfer them to Sana'a or what they may be exposed to by transferring them to Aden as a result of lawlessness in the occupied territories.

The Ministry of Guidance indicated that the agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj stipulates the return of Yemeni pilgrims who left through Sanaa International Airport to the same airport.
