SANA'A June 26. 2024 (Saba) -The Ministry of Interior's Security and Police Sector on Wedesday commemorated the anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib's Welayah with a ceremonial event in the capital Sana'a.
The event was attended by several senior officials including Brig. Gen. Ahmed al-Banous, overseeing facility protection police, Brig. Dr. Bakil al Buraishi from traffic police, Brig. Gen. Mohammed al Mahaqiri from border and airport security, Brig. Akram Amer from narcotics control, and Brig. Hamed al-Qarm from the Security and Police Sector's office.
Cultural activist Mohammed al-Mesili highlighted the importance of drawing lessons from Imam Ali's life, emphasizing his courage, sacrifices, and steadfast support for Prophet Muhammad and Islam.
He underscored concerns about the Muslim community's current state, attributing its challenges to a deviation from divine guidance and a lack of adherence to principles advocated by Imam Ali, which include dignity, honor, and resistance against adversaries.
Al-Mesili pointed out that the weakness observed in Arab and Islamic systems results from neglecting allegiance to God, His Prophet, and Imam Ali, key figures of guidance.
This neglect, he argued, has led Muslim nations into subservience to external powers like the United States and Israel.
He stressed the significance of Imam Ali's Welayah anniversary as an occasion for the Muslim community to reinforce its values and principles, inspired by the Imam's example.
Moreover, Al-Mesili praised the resilience and steadfastness of the Yemeni people over the past nine years, illustrating their commitment to God, His Prophet, and Imam Ali amidst challenges posed by enemies of the nation and Islam.
The event served as a reminder for attendees to reflect on the teachings of Imam Ali and their relevance to contemporary Islamic societies, urging a return to these values as a path toward strength and unity.
