HODEIDA June 26. 2024 (Saba) - Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in Hodeida province has begun a training course on therapeutic measures for acute watery diarrhea, organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population.
Over two days, the course aims to familiarize participants from the authority’s staff with acute watery diarrhea diseases, their causes, methods of prevention, laboratory diagnosis, the mechanism of screening, evaluation, and case management, in addition to the standards for operating diarrhea treatment centers and patient discharge standards.
Head of the authority Dr. Khaled Suhail pointed out the importance of the course in providing participants with new experiences and skills to provide health services to patients who are received at the authority’s Center for Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease Control, which is the first medical center in Hodeida to provide services for infectious diseases, including watery diarrhea.
Suhail appreciated the interest of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in organizing the course and training and qualifying medical staff in the hospital authority in order to confront watery diarrheal diseases and limit their spread.
For his part, Director General of Disease Control and Epidemiological Surveillance at the Ministry of Health Dr. Ehab al-Saqqaf explained that this course reflects the Ministry of Health’s commitment to strengthening efforts in combating infectious diseases, including acute watery diarrhea and infection control.
