GAZA June 26. 2024 (Saba) - The national and Islamic forces in the Gaza Strip warned on Tuesday of "consistency" with plans to replace the Rafah crossing and their consequences. It pointed to the coordination of "parties" with the Zionist enemy to facilitate travel through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
The follow-up committee said in a statement on Tuesday evening that it followed frequent reports of parties coordinating with the Zionist enemy to facilitate the travel of some patients and holders of foreign nationalities through the Kerem Shalom crossing and what is known as the "David Corridor" established by the Zionist enemy along the Philadelphia axis.
"This is a dangerous development and reveals the intentions of the occupation and plans to replace the Rafah crossing and the voluntary displacement of Palestinians," it said.
The Palestinian forces called on the Arab Republic of Egypt to reject this plan. "It harms Egyptian sovereignty and national security," it said.
It called for using all the national strengths that Egypt possesses, given its status and history, to thwart this plan.
It also called on all countries and international organizations not to contribute to the passage of the occupation plans "under humanitarian names", and not to contribute to easing international criticism of the Zionist enemy for closing the Gaza crossings, especially the Rafah land crossing.
It reiterated that the Rafah land crossing is a purely Palestinian-Egyptian crossing, and will remain so, and that its administration is Palestinian subject to Palestinian consensus only, "and we will not accept the imposition of the agendas of the occupation and the world on us in this regard."
