BERN June 15. 2024 (Saba) - Switzerland on Friday announced a contribution of ten million Swiss francs (US$ 11.2 million) to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
This funding came in response to UNRWA's appeal for humanitarian aid, the Foreign Policy Committee of the Swiss House of Representatives said, according to the Palestinian WAFA news agency.
It added that this contribution aims exclusively to cover the organization's most urgent needs in Gaza in the period until next December, as those needs include food, water, shelter, primary health care, and logistical services.
UNRWA, which coordinates almost all aid to Gaza, has been facing a crisis since January, when the Zionist enemy accused about 12 of its 13,000 employees of involvement in Tufan Al-Aqsa on October 7, while an independent review group led by former French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna concluded that Israel had not Provides evidence to support its claims.
