KUWAIT June 12. 2024 (Saba) -More than 39 people were killed and dozens injured on Wednesday when a fire broke out in two residential buildings in the Mangaf area in Ahmadi Governorate, south of Kuwait.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior reported that at least 39 people were killed in a fire that spread across two residential buildings in the Mangaf area, noting that the Civil Defense and Ambulance Forces were able to rescue 11 people as a preliminary toll.
It indicated that it received a report of a fire in the Mangaf area at six in the morning, after which rescue teams rushed to the area, where bodies are being recovered, their identities identified and survivors are being searched for.
It explained that rescue teams found 35 deaths in one of the residential buildings, and transferred 15 injured people to a hospital, where four of them died after arriving at the hospital.
It pointed out that the majority of deaths resulted from "suffocation", indicating that the investigation into the causes of the accident is still ongoing.
