London - (Saba):

The UK government has reiterated its commitment to supporting Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of strengthening European unity and NATO in the face of escalating security threats.

This statement was made during the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting held today in Antalya, Turkey.

The government noted that UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy will lead efforts to rally the alliance behind Ukraine, ensuring the achievement of a just and lasting peace. He will also update allies on the latest steps taken by the UK to protect the security of the Euro-Atlantic region.

Lammy said: "We stand united with Ukraine in our determination to ensure a just and lasting peace. We are working with our partners to strengthen collective security and end the Russian war," emphasizing that NATO security is central to the UK's growth and prosperity plans.

He also highlighted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Turkey demonstrates his commitment to peace and his readiness to engage in direct talks with Russia, urging continued international pressure to achieve a ceasefire as a first step toward a comprehensive solution.
