HODEIDA June 11. 2024 (Saba) - The leadership of Hodeida province and the military committee announced on Tuesday the reopening of Jabal Ras- Hais - al-Khawkha road, effective today, as part of the directives of the Revolution Leader, Mr. Abdulmalik al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat.
The authorities in Hodeida have begun implementing an initiative to reopen the road, remove barriers and debris, in preparation for the passage of transportation means, with the presence of the governor of the province Mohammed Qahim, Shura Council member Abdulrahman Makram, governor undersecretary Ahmed al-Bashri.
Governor Qahim emphasized that the reopening of the road demonstrates the seriousness of the local authority and the revolutionary, political leadership in their sincere intention and keenness to open roads and facilitate the passage of citizens, alleviating their suffering.
He considered the initiative to reopen roads from one side a practical embodiment of concern for the citizen and consideration of the humanitarian situation, urging the other party to sense the responsibility to open the road from the opposite side to prove its credibility and not succumb to the dictates of the aggression forces.
Al-Bashri affirmed that the opening of the road comes within the framework of the initiatives launched by the revolution leader and the efforts of local and community leaderships to alleviate the citizen's suffering in movement.
He expressed hope that this initiative would receive interaction and response from the other party to open the road without stubbornness, and that their decision would be in their hands for the common good of the Yemeni people, primarily the interests of the citizens.
While Makram emphasized the necessity of opening this road and prioritizing the public interest, expressing gratitude to the revolution leader, the President of the Supreme Political Council, and the leadership of the Fifth Military Region for their efforts in opening roads.
In turn, members of the military committee affirmed that opening this road comes from the keenness to overcome challenges, consider the interests of citizens, and facilitate their movement, indicating that there is no excuse for the other party after opening this road.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Nasraddin Amer, clarified that the opening of this road in Hodeida reflects the credibility of the leadership in Sana'a and its keenness to alleviate the suffering of citizens before Eid al-Adha, considering this initiative a practical step that the other party should take similar steps to open the road.
The reopening of the road was met with great relief and welcome from the tribal elders and citizens who praised the initiative of the revolution leader, the President of the Supreme Political Council, and the local authority in Hodeida.
