SANA'A June 10. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting was held in Sana'a today, Monday, which included the Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government, Ali Al-Dailami, the Minister of State for the Affairs of the Parliament , the Shura Council, Dr. Ali Abu Haliqa, a number of members of the parliament and the Shura Council, the committee concerned with preparing proposals for amendments to national laws related to women, and legal specialists.
The meeting, which was attended by the heads of the Committee on Codification of Islamic Sharia Provisions in the parliament, Mansour Wasel, the Constitutional Committee of the Shura Council, Muhammad Al-Kabsi, the Rights and Freedoms Committee of the Shura Council, Hasiba Shanif, and members of the parliament, Ahmed Saif Hashid and Abdo Radman, discussed the matrix of proposed amendments to national laws related to women.
At the meeting, the Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government stressed the importance of involving all concerned parties related to the House of Representatives and the Shura Council in projects related to women, because of its importance in achieving the principle of protection.
He pointed out that the laws proposed to be amended are not immediate, but there were previous proposals, submitted by the Ministry of Human Rights to the Council of Ministers before the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression against Yemen, and the Council approved them at the time and were referred to the House of Representatives for study and are still being considered in the Council until the moment.
Minister Al-Dailami suggested referring some materials related to the legal rulings related to women to Fatwa House for discussion and decision.
